fastest_dude_everSome of you may not be familiar with DCAU canon, which differs quite a bit from normal DC canon. I've put together some little tidbits about him, his powers, and other information that might give a little insight into Mr. West.
1. He is basically an amalgam of Barry Allen and Wally West from the comics.
This means that Barry Allen, who in the normal continuity is his uncle by marriage, his mentor, and the second Flash, does not exist for him. The DCAU took bits of Barry Allen and stuck them into Wally. So, this Wally is a forensic scientist like Barry was and got his powers in the same way - a lightning strike to a rack of chemicals. He's not completely dumb!
2. His limit is the speed of light.
He is really, really damn fast. In one episode of the Justice League, he runs from the center of Las Vegas and past the city limits to where it is uninhabited in about three seconds. According to some quick math I did, that's about 81,540 mph. He can run over water! He can also vibrate his molecules so quickly that he can phase through things, but not without making them explode. Barry Allen could do this without causing any damage to the object he was phasing through.
3. His identity is secret.
But honestly, that doesn't matter too much in the City. In the cartoons, when he and Lex Luthor switch minds, Lex Luthor removes his mask, only to be extremely disappointed that he has no idea who Wally is. Unlike Batman or Superman, his true identity is a nobody.
4. He can't really run that fast in civvies.
His costume is friction-proof. If he tries to run very fast in normal clothing, it'll all just shred off.
5. He's just a little bit stronger than normal folk.
He doesn't really have super strength to the degree of the other superheroes he works with, but he is able to carry and run with 400 lbs without difficulty.
6. He heals faster than normal folk.
Due to his connection with the speed force, he heals faster.
7. He has to eat a lot to survive.
His metabolism is through the roof, so it's not unusual to see him eating a buttload of junk food.
